You Hold me Now

I was talking to some non-Christians today about Christ. And what he has done in my life. Just as I ask a young man if he wanted to accept Jesus Christ as his savior and pray. I looked over to my left and there was a young lady just weeping. It occurred to me that she was not crying out of happiness for this young man, But yet it was a sadness because of a conviction on her heart. She started to tell me “I wish god would for give me for all I have done, I just know that there is no way” As she was talking to me I started thinking…

Some people think they are way past the point of forgiveness, that the mistakes they have made are too huge.  God’s grace is enough. We cannot fathom just how large and deep the grace of God is. But we say yes to God, believing and receiving life that is so much better than we could ever hope or imagine, knowing that we’ll spend eternity with him.

That of course doesn’t mean that we won’t be faced with trials or hardship in this life, but we have the security and comfort in knowing that Jesus is with us forever. I was searching and i came across some new Hillsong material, and here is the lyrics for one of the songs, which explains just how great eternity will be – no weeping, no hurt or pain, He holds us, and his grace is enough.

“On that day when I see, all that you have for me
When I see You face to face, there surrounded by your grace
All my fears swept away, in the light of your embrace
Where your love is all I need and forever I am free
Where the streets are made of gold, In Your presence healed and whole
Let the songs of heaven rise to you alone
No weeping, no hurt or pain
You hold me now, You hold me now
No darkness, no sick or lame
No hiding, You hold me now, You hold me now
In this life I will stand, through my joy and my pain
Knowing there’s a greater day, there’s a hope that never fails
Where Your name is lifted high and forever praises rise
For the gory of Your name, I’m believing for the day
Where the wars and violence cease, all creation lives in peace
Let the songs of heaven rise to You alone
No weeping, no hurt or pain
You hold me now, You hold me now
No darkness, no sick or lame
No hiding, You hold me now, You hold me now”

it’s a NEW YEAR!!!

Posted in Uncategorized on January 5, 2009 by dakotaray

It’s a New Year, As Pastor Mike would say “ I loved 2008 and wouldn’t trade it for anything but I thank God that it is 2009″  2009 I believeis going to be a time of great CHANGE both in my life and all around the world.  And I know people get anxious when they hear the word “CHANGE”, I would encourage you to make the same prayer I did “GOD thank you for 2008 thank you for all of the seed that has been sown, And thank you that in  2009 I am going to reap the harvest of that seed.  Thank you that 2009 is going to be a way better year than 2008 because you are a god who does things bigger and better. I pray that all of the things that have been taken are replaced weather it be a Relationship or just down to a personal belonging in Jesus name” 2009 is going to be a year that is really busy. And it is your choice to live it for yourself or to live it for Christ. OR are you going to be the one who is a servant and washes peoples feet? I encourage you to make this year something that you will never forget. live with no regrets and hold onto the promises of GOD. Its a new year people!!!!! :)

OK . So I have been praying for one of my good friends for the past two years. He called me today to tell me that he had accepted Jesus Christ as his lord, He told me about this movie that he had seen and he couldnt help but fall completely in love with Jesus Christ he said “I have been so bad. I just don’t understand how he can love ME! After ALL I have done.” To wich I reply. “You cannot fathom the outrages love of a savior. Because God is so much bigger than us. You don’t have to understand all you have to do is accept.” Well to make a long story short I looked up the trailer on youtube it is below.

“What if the church were run like an airline?”

Todd Rhodes, brilliant author of Monday Morning Insight, asked this question and submitted one of the most hilarious (and insightful) things I’ve read in a while!

I travel quite a bit, and have been watching all the up-charges that the airlines have been passing on to customers. From paying for the first checked bag, to fuel surcharges, to purchasing soft drinks, they have really socked it to the consumer with all the new charges. I was thinking… particularly during this economic trying time for many churches, maybe we should take some advice from the airlines. Here are some things that I think we could take from the airline world and apply to our churches that might help get us through these trying times:

–First donut free; each additional donut is 75 cents.

–All aisle seats are now $10/week. Back row premium seating available for $20 per week.

–First ear plug is free. Additional earplugs just $5 each.

–iPod rental with a Perry Noble sermon – $20 upcharge

Oh… there’s more…

–Valet parking:  $20 plus tip

–No Bible charge: $10

–Cell phone ringing during service:  $50 one time charge

–Late to service fee:  $10/pp

–”Sing that chorus one less time” request:  $20

–Nursery diaper change fee:  $5/lb.

–KJV upgrade to NIV:  $15

–U-PIC the sermon topic:  $250

–Hit job on the organist (rates vary per city/church)

–Online tithing discount rate:  8%

–Music Volume Up fee:  $20

–Music Volume Down fee:  $20

What would you add?

(Like this post?  Pass it on on your blog… twitter it… forward to a friend… fine by me!  No surcharges or up-charges here!)
